About

Isaac R. Shannon. I’m Indonesian. Principal Engineer, 10 years in software, mostly backend. I work abroad.

I’m not really into “shipping features.” I’m into the building part—understanding how things work. In my free time I build compilers, programming languages, ML algorithms, data structures, Redis, databases, Docker. Not to compete. Just to see how they work.

It started in high school. I taught myself to code. My first real program was a chord converter in Pascal: you put in lyrics with guitar chords, it transposes them to any key. Simple, but it shaped who I am.

In college I went for CS but ended up loving math more. Pure math. I did the math olympiad and represented my campus. Never won gold. Still graduated with a CS degree.

This site is the same idea. A quiet corner. Essays, projects, books, tools. Stuff I care about.

If you find something useful here, that’s enough.
